Gaetano Liguori, graduated from the Conservatory of Milan piano and electronic composition, has held more than three thousand concerts in Italy and abroad and has conducted various Ensembles including the Orchestra Collective, playing with Massimo Urbani, Steve Lacy, Roswell Rudd, Don Cherry and Lester Bowie. In 1978 he won the Critics' Award Record. He has toured throughout Europe and Cuba and was the first Italian jazz musician to play in India, Thailand and Singapore. He has participated as a musician in several solidarity trips to Eritrea, Senegal, Amazon, Nicaragua and Jerusalem. He has composed soundtracks for theater, cinema, radio and ballet, and has worked with Dario Fo, Fernanda Pivano and Ottavia Piccolo. He has recorded more than thirty of records and CDs. Since 1978 he is professor of piano at the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi in Milan and holds a master of jazz history at the University Bocconi of Milan.
